It is the syndrome in which the muscles or tendons of the lower abdominal wall weaken. The location of the pain is in the inguinal region of the abdominal wall, where the “classic” inguinal hernia also appears.
Symptoms:
- Pain in the lower abdominal muscles
- Pain in the groin
- Feeling of heaviness in the area of the abdominal muscles as well as the adductor muscles
The symptoms are aggravated by activities/sports in which there are movements of speed, turning and bending of the trunk (football, basketball, volleyball). They can be made worse by coughing or sneezing.
Treatment:
Refrain from any sporting activity, anti-inflammatory treatment, ice therapy, physical therapy with isometric exercises and stabilization exercises of all muscle groups in the area.
